Curative Medicine Faculty
The Faculty of Curative Medicine of Mirwais Neeka Institute of Higher Education was established as the first private medical faculty in Kandahar province in 2011. The teaching of this faculty is given theoretically and practically based on the approved curriculum by the Ministry of Higher Education, The Faculty Academic Program is a twelve-semester and one-year house job(Internship) period.
So far,Nearly 1,600 students have been enrolled in faculty through nineteen rounds of entrance examinations. Of these, 411 students have completed their education program from the first to the sixth batches and have been introduced to the Community as young doctors and the rest of the students are studying in the faculty.
The faculty is staffed by thirty-four experienced Lecturers/instructors, as well as twelve experienced instructors with specialized training in their profession who facilitate practical training to students in hospitals.
The teaching and administrative affairs of the faculty takes place in a part of the Mirwais Neeka Institute of Higher Education building dedicated to the faculty of curative medicine.
All classrooms are equipped with the necessary materials and equipment to meet today’s demands. Laboratories are equipped with all the necessary materials and equipment according to the curriculum of the faculty.
Clinical period practical works are offered at Alfarhad curative and Ayobi curative hospitals which are among the well-equipped and standardized hospitals in Kandahar province.in addition, in order to raise the quality of practical works as much as possible, the leadership of the Mirwais Neeka Institute of Higher Education decided to establish a teaching hospital for the curative medicine faculty.Fortunately, teaching hospital construction work has been completed so far, the necessary equipment has been prepared and will be opened in the coming days. With the establishment of this hospital, on the one hand, significant facilities will be unveiled in students’ practical works, and on the other hand, standard health services will be provided for patients
Mirwais Neeka Institute of Higher Education has a well-equipped library and the library has a large number of medical books among other books for the benefit of students and lecturers/instructors. The institute’s digital library is equipped with thousands of digital medical books, many of which are up-to-date, and are used by Lecturers/instructors and students to enhance their academic abilities.
The administrative and academic affairs of the faculty are managed by the faculty directorate, faculty related departments, faculty related committees, teaching, and administrative administrators
The administrative and academic affairs of the faculty are evaluated from time to time in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education. Students, graduates, lecturers/instructors, dean of faculty, faculty departments, chancellor of institute, academic affairs vice-chancellor, quality assurance and accreditation directorate of the institute, and branches of the Ministry of Higher Education, especially the directorate of quality assurance and accreditation are involved in these evaluations.
Fortunately, the evaluation carried out by a team of the quality assurance and accreditation department of the Ministry of Higher Education in December 2021, Mirwais Neeka Institute of Higher Education, including the faculty of curative medicine, was able to successfully pass the second phase of quality improvement and accreditation.
